- On deciding that an IST should be carried out, you (the project/initiative manager) will be assigned an IST support officer, who will meet with you to guide you through the process. Guidance documents on the main issues are provided and are also available on this website by clicking here.
- The IST assessment is carried out – this could be a lone exercise, however it is recommended that a team of potentially 4/5 stakeholders carry out the assessment which will ensure that a wider perspective of issues is taken into consideration. For major involving several key stakeholders a workshop approach would be best. Please click workshop IST for further information.
- The IST assessment will ask a number of questions relating to how your initiative will impact on the main issues and will also ask you to evidence your response. You will be asked to consider ways to mitigate minimise any negative impacts.
- On completion of the assessment, the software package will automatically, using your responses, prepare a report. A copy of which will be emailed to the IST support officer.
- The IST support officer will review the findings and offer any feedback.
- The action plan is agreed by your project board and reported to the IST project board.
- Actions reviewed quarterly.
