Rotary Fun Walk

Bridgend County Rotary Clubs' Fun Walk.

This is not a race but a comfortable personal challenge and we hope a fun day out for families, groups and individuals of all ages and capabilities.

The walk is on Sunday 20th May 2012 from 11:00hrs and starts from near Cosy Corner in Porthcawl and proceeds for 2.5K along the new esplanade to the Royal Porthcawl golf club and back - a total of 5K. There is a shorter course for children. All proceeds go to local charities.

Sponsorship is encouraged but is not a condition of entry. One can enter by post, which is cheaper, or on the day.

2012 Love2walk Week 3 Results

Congratulations to you all as all the teams together have since the start of the challenge done over 36 million steps. Four teams in the third week exceeded 400,000 steps!!!! One team, One step beyond achieved over half a million steps. The other top 3 teams were, Brackla Beauties, Trail Blazers, and Louise’s Lovely Ladies, very well done. The challenge is not only about the number of steps it is also about every-one of you walking a few steps more each week, and/or maintaining the improvement. The most improved teams in week 3 compared with week 2 are A Wwalk in the Park, Graph Walks, and Leggy Walkers, all with over 20% improvement. These results will be put on the Health Challenge Website (address below) very shortly.

The first three weeks figures show that on average all the participating teams are increasing the number of steps by over 5% per week. Very well done.
